Tyre Protector launches in Nigeria.
After months of planning and preparation, the remarkable launch of Tyre
Protector took place in Lagos, Nigeria on the 22nd July 2006. The venue was the
recently opened Victoria Crown Plaza Hotel right in the heart of Victoria Island
in Lag
The banquet hall was packed with over 500 people who listened as Paul Butterworth
and Colin Jones, Managing Director and Technical Director of Tyre Protector International
respectively presented the product. The event which was organised by Kayode Thomas,
attracted representatives from the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), state
governments and various industries including haulage, transportation, logistics,
waste management, manufacturing, oil & gas, banking and insurance to name
a few. Several representatives from the media were in attendance to cover this
first of its kind event in the country.
The event covered presentation on Tyre Protector, the screening of the promotional
DVD, indoor demonstration on how the product works and question and answer sessions.
The question and answer session proved to be very fascinating indeed as questions
were fielded by Paul and Colin.
Following the cutting of the Tyre Protector cake (made in the shape of a tyre
with nails in it), the event was rounded up with an outdoor demonstration of exactly
how Tyre Protector works.
Hundreds of people marvelled as the pre-treated car went over nails a number
of times!!! Some could have sworn this was African voodoo at its best!!!
A well attended post-launch cocktail party took place later same day.
The following day saw the commencement of a 3-day training period with over 55
candidates in attendance. Venue was the Park View Astoria Hotel, Park View, Ikoyi,
Lagos. Candidates were drawn from various backgrounds ranging from university
graduates to vulcanisers and others with experience in the Tyre industry.
Days 1 & 2 focused on the theoretical aspects of Tyre Protector. The final
day was dedicated to practical training where all candidates had several opportunities
to put into practice what they had learned in the previous two days. Several cars
and trucks were used for this purpose.
Following the training, visits were made to potential clients with huge fleets
such as the Dangote Group, Jagal Group, Flour Mills, Julius Berger and the Lagos
State Government to mention a few.
Nigeria is now set to become Tyre Protector’s largest market and a hub for other
West African countries.
I congratulate Kayode Thomas and his business associates Titi Onyekweli and Kayode
Ogunsola for arranging a most successful launch and training event. Likewise their
hospitality and friendship will be remembered for a very long time.
I wish them every success for their future with Tyre Protector and assure them
of our utmost attention in the future.
